iOS privacy notice

Your mailbox stays yours.

This notice explains what the Zero Inbox iOS app and its supporting service process when you connect a Gmail or Outlook mailbox.

Effective August 14, 2026

Scope

This notice supplements the general Zero Inbox privacy policy and applies specifically to Zero Inbox for iOS. If the general policy describes older product behavior differently, this notice controls for the iOS app and its mobile API.

What we collect

  • Account data: your provider account identifier, name, email address, profile image if provided, Zero Inbox user identifier, authentication sessions, and provider access and refresh tokens.
  • Cleaner records: mailbox provider, sender addresses, provider message identifiers, folder or label identifiers, suggested destinations, workflow status, review decisions, and aggregate counts.
  • On-demand previews: when you open a review item, we retrieve a recent message subject, snippet, date, and limited body text from your provider and send it to your device. Zero Inbox does not store that preview text in its application database.
  • Operational data: IP address, request time, device and app version information sent in ordinary network requests, and security or error logs needed to operate the service.

How mailbox data is used

We use mailbox access only to group recurring senders, suggest a destination, show a review preview, and carry out the specific move, archive, keep, or trash action you confirm. Starting a scan does not move messages. Zero Inbox does not use mailbox data for advertising or tracking.

Inbox cleaning does not add discovered senders to an email marketing list or CRM. Contact Sync is a separate product and requires a separate, explicit user action.

AI processing

The cleaner sends only a sender email address to Gemini for categorization—not message content.

With your express consent in the app, Zero Inbox sends a sender email address to the Google Gemini API to suggest a mailbox category. The cleaner does not send message bodies, subjects, snippets, attachments, recipients, or your instructions to Gemini. Google processes API requests as a service provider under its applicable Gemini API terms and may retain limited request data as described in those terms.

If you do not consent, do not connect a mailbox in the iOS app. You can withdraw consent by deleting your Zero Inbox account and revoking Zero Inbox access in your Google or Microsoft connected-app settings.

Service providers

We disclose data only as needed to operate the service:

  • Google Gmail or Microsoft Graph to read and modify the mailbox you connect.
  • Google Gemini API for the limited sender categorization described above.
  • AWS and Vercel for database, file, application, and network hosting.
  • Stripe for records related to purchases made on the Zero Inbox website. The iOS app does not offer external checkout or Apple in-app purchases.

We require service providers to protect personal data consistently with their agreements with us and applicable law. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

Retention, sign out, and deletion

Signing out removes the mobile session from that device. It does not delete your server account, provider credentials, cleaner history, or pending review tasks, so you can resume later.

Account > Delete account and data permanently removes your Zero Inbox identity, provider credentials, sessions, user-owned cleaner workflows, tasks, events, contact associations, uploads, and stored files. It also cancels active Zero Inbox subscriptions billed directly through Stripe. Limited transaction records may be kept when required for tax, fraud-prevention, audit, or chargeback obligations. Account deletion does not reverse actions already applied to messages and does not delete messages from Google or Microsoft.

Your choices

  • Review every proposed message-changing action before it runs.
  • Keep any sender group unchanged.
  • Sign out locally at any time.
  • Revoke provider access from the link in Account settings.
  • Delete your account and associated user data in the app.
